WWF Managers Bob Backlund and Sultan
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Jakks Pacific's WWF Managers Series two-pack paired Bob Backlund and The Sultan on a single blister card, and this copy has made it to 2026 still sealed. The Managers Series ran through Jakks Pacific's mid-to-late 1990s WWF output, leaning into the paired storytelling of manager and talent that the company was running hard in its programming at the time.
Backlund's second act is one of the stranger character pivots in WWF history. He returned to the company in 1992 after a decade away, wrestled briefly as a babyface throwback, then turned heel in late 1994 by refusing to submit during a match against Bret Hart and going full erratic after losing the title. By 1996 he had been repositioned as a manager, which is where this two-pack lives. The Sultan was a masked character worked by Solofa Fatu Jr., the same man who would later become Rikishi, a name every wrestling fan from that generation knows immediately. Under the Sultan mask he was billed as a foreign heel managed by Backlund and Iron Sheik, and the masked run lasted into 1997 before the character was retired. The pairing on this card captures a very short booking window: Backlund as the button-up oddball managing a masked Fatu, before Rikishi and the Too Cool run changed everything about how fans understood him.
The Sultan lasted less than a year but Jakks gave the gimmick a forever home in plastic.
This copy is sealed on its original card with what the previous listing flagged as minor shelf wear, which is typical for blister cards that spent any time in a retail environment or a collector's storage. The cardback art is the thing to examine when you have it in hand: Jakks Pacific Managers Series cards carried portrait photography of both figures against the WWF logo field, and the print quality on the cardback tells you a lot about how this card was stored. Check the blister seal along the bottom edge of the card, because that seam is where separation starts on these Jakks blisters when humidity has worked on them.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the Managers Series series number or wave designation printed on the cardback, and check whether the blister seal shows any lifting along the bottom seam edge.

Attitude Era Archive
WWF's 90s stretch ran hot and strange. Shirts, magazines, and figures came out of a locker-room-to-retail pipeline with zero prestige intent. The ones that made it through are creased, foxed, sun-hit, and still loud. Keeping them intact is the job. We document what survived and photograph it in the condition it arrived in.
