PlayStation WWF War Zone in Box
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
WWF War Zone on PlayStation, released in 1998 by Acclaim Entertainment, was the game that finally gave home consoles a wrestling experience that felt like the real show. Not a simplified button-masher. Not a top-down sprite tournament. A 3D, polygonal, attitude-adjacent brawler with a real WWF roster. Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Undertaker, Mankind, Shawn Michaels, Bret Hart, all rendered in full PS1 polygonal glory, with entrance music and finishing moves that actually matched their TV counterparts. It sold hard because 1998 was the precise moment the Attitude Era had its hooks into everybody.
That year, Raw Is War was beating Monday Night Football in the demo that mattered. The Monday Night Wars between WWF and WCW had been running hot since 1996, and by mid-1998 the WWF had turned the corner. Austin had won the belt at WrestleMania XIV in March. D-Generation X was running the midcard. The summer was about to give the world the first Hell in a Cell between Undertaker and Mankind. War Zone dropped into that noise and felt like a companion piece to the television, not a generic wrestling cart with a WWF license pasted on. Acclaim followed it with Attitude in 1999 but War Zone is the one that arrived when the momentum first crested, and collectors know the difference.

This copy is in box, which puts it in a different tier from the disc-only copies that circulate constantly. The case shows expected age wear. Check the hinge tabs and the disc tray ridge for stress cracks before you commit. The disc itself carries handwritten markings on the surface, catalog number SLUS-21189 visible, and the label should still read clean around the WWF logo block. Box copy of this title from 1998 does not come up often in this condition tier. Pull the disc and run it along a light source at a low angle. Any delamination or deep scratch will catch there before it catches in the console.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the box includes original cover insert and back card, and note whether any inner tray cracking affects disc retention.

The PlayStation Index
Sony's polygon era rebuilt what a console could look like on a shelf. 90s PlayStation releases shipped with jewel cases, foldout manuals, demo discs, and promotional boxes that were treated as disposable at the time. The ones that held on, through moves and attic boxes and thrift bins, land at the shop with the printing still sharp. We list them with the marks honest.
