Sega CD WWF Rage In The Cage Video Game
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
WWF Rage in the Cage is a 1994 Sega CD wrestling title developed by Sculptured Software and published under the WWF license, released during the New Generation transition when Vince McMahon was aggressively rebuilding the roster after the steroid-scandal fallout of the early 1990s. The format is a standard tall Sega CD jewel case with the blue-spined tray insert common to first-party and major licensed releases from that period. Twenty wrestlers on the roster made this the largest playable WWF lineup on home hardware at the time of its release.
1994 was a strange inflection year for the WWF. Hulk Hogan had left for WCW in 1993. Bret Hart was carrying the company as champion coming off WrestleMania IX, and Diesel was being fast-tracked toward a title run that would hand him the belt at Survivor Series later that year. The Sega CD itself was an add-on in decline by mid-1994. Sony's PlayStation announcement at CES that January had already tilted the industry's attention toward 32-bit hardware, and Sega's own Saturn was months away. Rage in the Cage arrived in that narrow window where 16-bit CD-based gaming still had publisher support, and the WWF brand was strong enough to sell hardware-adjacent titles across Sega's full ecosystem: Genesis, Game Gear, and the CD add-on all received licensed WWF product in this period. The game used digitized FMV for ring entrances, a feature that required the CD format and was a legitimate selling point in 1994.
Mid-1990s WWF roster trapped in a Sega CD format nobody bought and fewer people kept.
This copy presents in the tall jewel case format, and condition will vary between loose-disc, complete-in-case, and sealed depending on what's on the shelf the day you're looking. The roster graphics are digitized photo captures, which means disc surface condition matters more here than on cartridge-based titles. Any significant disc read errors will surface during the FMV entrance sequences before they show up in gameplay. Pull the disc and check the read surface under direct light before committing to a purchase. Hairline scratches near the inner hub are the first thing to look at.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm whether this copy is loose disc only, complete with jewel case and artwork insert, or sealed, as condition tier affects value significantly for this title.

The Sega Era
Sega's 90s catalogue moved fast and took risks. Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, the arcades that fed them, the merchandise that trailed each launch. The blue-ribbon years produced cartridges, plush, promotional cards, and magazine inserts that rarely made it past the living room floor. What landed here was stored carefully enough to survive two console generations.
