Hiohden Super Famicom/SNES JP GAME. 9000021331344
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Hiohden is a Super Famicom strategy RPG released in 1993 by Wolf Team, published exclusively for the Japanese market and never officially localized for Western audiences. The game arrived complete in box, and the dark fantasy artwork on the cover earns a second look: a throne room, skeletal figures flanking the frame, a dragon's shadow overhead. Wolf Team was working in the same corner of the 16-bit RPG landscape as early Enix and early NEC Ave titles, building systems-heavy strategy games for a domestic audience that rewarded patience over reflexes.
1993 was a loaded year for the Super Famicom. Final Fantasy V had shipped the previous year and set expectations for what a square could do with 16-bit hardware. Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem was already on shelves. Into that environment, Wolf Team released a game with mouse compatibility, which tells you something about their design ambition: this was not a simple tile-move-attack loop. Mouse support on the Super Famicom was a short-lived experiment tied to a small catalog of titles, and Hiohden is one of the more obscure entries in that group. The Japan-exclusive status means this copy arrived on the secondary market through import channels, and CIB copies of niche Wolf Team titles are not routine stock at a Western shop. We picked this one up specifically because the box and manual were both present and clean.
Wolf Team's dark fantasy grid tactics, complete in box, no English release, pure import collector bait.
This copy is complete in box. Box, cartridge, and manual are all accounted for. The cartridge shell shows light shelf wear consistent with 30-plus years of storage, and the manual pages appear free of major foxing or water damage from what we can see at intake. The box corners will tell you the full condition story: check each corner flap for split seams or crush damage before you commit, because box integrity on JP-exclusive Super Famicom titles is the first thing to go.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the 1993 release year and Wolf Team publisher credit against the manual title page or cartridge label markings.

The Nintendo Archive
This is part of Nintendo's 90s run, the era that built the shop's back wall. Nintendo shipped cartridges, plush, promotional oddities, and packaging that most buyers threw out on the way to the game. What survived, mostly by accident, ends up here. Every piece is cleaned, photographed, and listed one at a time. Nothing on the archive shelf is a duplicate.
