How We Grade Condition
Every item at Keep It Classic is inspected by our team before it goes up for sale. We photograph each piece from multiple angles and grade its condition using the scale below. The grade and any specific flaws are noted in the product description.
| Grade | What It Means |
|---|---|
| Excellent | Like new or unworn. No visible flaws. Tags may or may not be attached. See our Sealed & New collection for items still in original packaging. |
| Great | Minimal signs of wear. No stains, holes, or major fading. |
| Good | Light wear consistent with age. Minor cosmetic imperfections are noted in the listing. |
| Fair | Noticeable wear, flaws, or repairs. Sold as-is and priced accordingly. Many of our Under $15 finds fall in this range. |
Condition by Category
Vintage Clothing
Clothing shows normal wear patterns from its era — slight fading, softened fabric, or minor pilling can be expected on items graded Good or Fair. We call out anything beyond normal aging in the listing: stains, holes, repairs, missing buttons, or zipper issues. If a flaw exists, you will see it in the photos and the description. Retro Video Games
Games are inspected visually and tested when possible. Cart-based games (SNES, N64, Game Boy) are cleaned and tested for functionality. Disc-based games are inspected for scratches and surface damage. We note whether a game is cart only, complete in box, or loose disc in the listing. Explore our full retro video games collection.
VHS Tapes
VHS tapes are inspected for mold, water damage, and shell condition. We check that the tape is present and intact. Playback quality on vintage tapes can vary, but we reject any tapes with visible mold or significant damage. Browse horror VHS, comedy VHS, and our full VHS collection.
Collectibles, Toys & Other Items
Collectibles are graded based on overall visual condition and completeness. We note missing parts, box damage, or cosmetic wear. If an item is in its original packaging, we describe the condition of both the item and the packaging. Shop vintage toys and collectibles.
Photos Tell the Story
We do not use stock photos. Every listing features our own photos of the actual item you will receive. We shoot from multiple angles and include close-ups of any flaws, tags, labels, or details worth seeing. What you see in the photos is what you get.
