Jakks Pacific's WWF Legends Series 1 figure of Jimmy "Superfly" Snuka arrived in the mid-to-late 1990s as part of the company's first dedicated run honoring the federation's foundational era. This is the blister-carded original, not a reissue, and the card itself carries the gold "LEGENDS Series 1" banner above the classic block WWF logo. Tiger-print trunks, white headband, wide muscular stance. The photo card is included behind the figure.
Jakks Pacific took over the WWF toy license from Hasbro in 1996, and one of their early moves was to reach back before the Hulkamania saturation and pull figures from the generation that built Madison Square Garden. Snuka belonged to that generation. His August 1983 MSG cage match against Don Muraco, the one that ended with the top-of-cage splash that missed and still became the defining visual of a decade, is why he is in this series at all. Vince McMahon famously called it from ringside. The clip ran on Championship Wrestling for years afterward. By the time kids were opening this figure in 1997 or 1998, Snuka was a ghost story told by their older cousins, a name on a VHS tape, a reason their fathers watched wrestling. Jakks put him in Series 1 because they understood the hierarchy. The Legends line was not a nostalgia cash-grab. It was acknowledgment that the WWF's credibility in 1997 ran on a foundation that included men like Snuka, and a Legends shelf with the right figures was a statement of institutional memory.

The blister card on this copy shows the shelf wear documented in the original description: surface scuffs and edge creasing consistent with retail storage, not collector-closet bubble wrap. The card has not been popped. Figure articulation is factory-tight, which you can see through the blister without opening it. Tiger-print trunks read clearly through the plastic. If you are adding this to a carded Legends run alongside the other Series 1 releases, condition consistency matters more than perfection on any single card. Check the top-right corner of the blister seal where the card spine meets the bubble edge. That seam is where shelf pressure shows first, and it will tell you how this one held up against whatever it was stored next to.
