VHS Hoffa
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Fox Home Entertainment released "Hoffa" on VHS, still sealed in original shrink wrap. The 1992 biographical drama directed by Danny DeVito and starring Jack Nicholson as Teamsters boss Jimmy Hoffa arrived in homes during a wave of prestige Hollywood biopics that were competing hard for awards attention and shelf real estate at every Blockbuster and mom-and-pop video store in the country.
DeVito came to this project off "Batman Returns" as producer and "The War of the Roses" as director, both high-profile releases that gave him real leverage to mount a serious union drama with a $40 million budget and a cast that included Nicholson, Danny DeVito himself, Armand Assante, and J.T. Walsh, with John C. Reilly in an early supporting role. The film opened wide in December 1992, going head-to-head with the holiday box office. Nicholson received a Golden Globe nomination for the performance. The VHS release followed in 1993 through Fox Home Entertainment, dropping into the market during the height of the format's commercial peak, before DVD began cutting into home video sales mid-decade. The cover art is one of the more striking Fox releases of the period: purple and maroon color blocks, Nicholson's face pushed close to the lens in full Hoffa mode, DeVito positioned to his right.
Sealed Fox prestige drama from the era when studios still funded union stories.
This copy is sealed. The shrink wrap is intact with no significant bubbling or tears along the spine edge. The artwork underneath reads clearly with no fading visible through the wrap on the front face. Color saturation on the case itself holds well, which is not always the case with purple-heavy Fox packaging from this period, which was prone to light bleed over time. For a sealed tape this age, the condition is above the typical shelf-find grade. The shrink seal seam at the bottom edge is where you want to check first, as this is where most Fox tapes from this run show the earliest signs of lifting or separation.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the sealed condition of the shrink wrap and the integrity of the shrink seal seam at the bottom edge before listing as factory-sealed.

The Rental Counter
Before streaming flattened the difference between movies, VHS was a physical act. Rentals, buybacks, Blockbuster sleeves, promo tapes, ex-rentals with security stickers still on the side. 90s tapes outlived the stores they came from. We keep them in their original cases where possible and note every sticker, sun-fade, and sleeve crease in the photography.
