Sony PlayStation Ford Truck Mania CIB
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Ford Truck Mania is a 1999 PS1 racing title developed by Tantalus and published by Gotham Games, built entirely around Ford's F-Series lineup. The premise is exactly what the title says: mud courses, dirt tracks, and Ford trucks, rated Everyone by the ESRB. Complete in box, jewel case present, disc, and manual all accounted for.
By 1999, the PS1 was deep into its commercial peak, and publishers were filling the catalog with licensed arcade racers that could move units without the overhead of a simulation engine. Ford Truck Mania fits that pattern cleanly. Gotham Games was active in the late-'90s budget-to-mid-tier publishing lane, and Tantalus was doing solid contract work out of Australia across multiple platforms during this stretch. The game shipped the same year as Gran Turismo 2, which tells you where it sat on the prestige ladder. Nobody was competing with Gran Turismo. Ford Truck Mania was not trying to. It was targeting the buyer who wanted to stomp through mud courses in a lifted F-Series and hit the credits before dinner. That niche had real shelf space in 1999, and this title held its own in it. The F-Series was already the best-selling truck in America for more than two decades by that point, so the license was not a stretch.

This copy is complete in box, which matters for a title that shipped with a manual worth reading for the course progression layout. Jewel case condition is worth a close look, as late-'90s PS1 jewel cases crack at the hinge tabs and the spine with normal shelf handling. Disc surface and label print should be clean on a copy that has stayed in the case. The manual spine fold will tell you whether this one lived on a shelf or got stacked under other cases for twenty-five years. Check the inside hinge tabs on the jewel case before anything else.

The PlayStation Index
Sony's polygon era rebuilt what a console could look like on a shelf. 90s PlayStation releases shipped with jewel cases, foldout manuals, demo discs, and promotional boxes that were treated as disposable at the time. The ones that held on, through moves and attic boxes and thrift bins, land at the shop with the printing still sharp. We list them with the marks honest.
