SNES Super High Impact in Box
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Super High Impact on SNES is Acclaim's 1993 port of Midway's arcade football hit, cartridge and box both present, making this a complete-in-box copy of one of the more unhinged football games the 16-bit generation produced. The arcade original ran in cabinets across the country before Acclaim brought it home to Nintendo hardware, and the SNES version kept the core premise intact: hits that border on cartoonish, no licensed NFL teams, no simulation patience required.
The early 1990s were an interesting stretch for arcade-to-home football ports. Tecmo Super Bowl had already set the bar for console football in 1991, and Joe Montana Football and John Madden Football were both pulling the genre toward statistical realism. Super High Impact went the other direction, keeping the quarter-back-launching, defender-flattening physics of the arcade cabinet and refusing to apologize for it. Acclaim was deep in the business of porting Midway's coin-op library during this stretch, and Super High Impact belongs to that run alongside their NBA Jam and Mortal Kombat work. The game predates NFL Blitz by several years and carries a real argument as a template for the over-the-top football genre that Blitz would later perfect on N64 and PlayStation. No NFL marks, NFLPA licensing only, which is standard for the period. The players wear generic uniforms with exaggerated proportions, and the whole aesthetic reads as the arcade era resisting the simulation turn that was already beginning.
Football as spectacle, not simulation: Midway's arcade chaos compressed into a Super Nintendo cartridge.
This copy comes with the original box, which is showing edge creasing and shelf wear consistent with a cartridge that actually got played through the decade. The cartridge itself needs a close look before you rate the label condition. Box-complete SNES sports titles from this period are harder to find than the loose cart alone, and this one has held together. The four flap corners on the box top are the first place wear concentrates on SNES boxes this age, so check those before you commit to a display grade.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm complete-in-box configuration includes cartridge, box, and any original insert or manual; note whether manual is present.

The Nintendo Archive
This is part of Nintendo's 90s run, the era that built the shop's back wall. Nintendo shipped cartridges, plush, promotional oddities, and packaging that most buyers threw out on the way to the game. What survived, mostly by accident, ends up here. Every piece is cleaned, photographed, and listed one at a time. Nothing on the archive shelf is a duplicate.
