Sega Saturn Solar Eclipse in Box
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Solar Eclipse is a 1995 space combat shooter developed by Crystal Dynamics for Sega Saturn, complete in box with the tall jewel case the platform was known for. Catalog number T-15911H. One copy, CIB, on hand now.
Crystal Dynamics had a specific moment in 1995: Saturn launched in the United States in May of that year at $399, a surprise price reveal at E3 that blindsided retailers and damaged the platform's opening momentum before a single game sold. Solar Eclipse came out in that same launch period, which meant it needed to prove the hardware fast. Crystal Dynamics answered with pre-rendered 3D corridor environments and a cockpit-perspective shooter structure that leaned hard into what the Saturn's hardware could render at the time. The studio was not yet the company that would define itself with Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen in 1996 or the Tomb Raider franchise later, but Solar Eclipse showed what they were building toward: cinematic framing, atmospheric sci-fi tone, a commitment to visual scale over arcade simplicity. For Saturn collectors, launch-window CIB titles carry weight because attrition was real: Saturn undersold in the West, and complete-in-box copies from 1995 have thinned out considerably in the thirty-plus years since.
The tall case alone is a material artifact of Sega's pivot away from Western ambition.
This copy includes the jewel case, which is the tall-format case Saturn used throughout its catalog. Check the case hinges first: Saturn's tall jewel cases are brittle at the spine and cracks at the hinge point are the most common condition issue on CIB Saturn titles. The disc should be clean; Solar Eclipse does not have the kind of extended play history that leaves heavy ring wear, but verify under light before you commit. Manual presence matters here because the cockpit controls are not intuitive on a cold start. In a collection focused on mid-90s CD-based hardware, Saturn CIB represents the short end of the survival curve compared to PlayStation contemporaries from the same year.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm catalog number T-15911H is present on the case spine and that the manual is included with this copy.

The Sega Era
Sega's 90s catalogue moved fast and took risks. Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, the arcades that fed them, the merchandise that trailed each launch. The blue-ribbon years produced cartridges, plush, promotional cards, and magazine inserts that rarely made it past the living room floor. What landed here was stored carefully enough to survive two console generations.
