Rey Misterio Sr. 100% Rudo T-Shirt Size XL
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Rey Misterio Sr. is the root of one of lucha libre's deepest bloodlines, and this black XL tee from Lucha Libre Independent puts the original on his own merch with zero apology. The design leans hard into the rudo aesthetic he wore for decades: screen-printed ornate cross, a skull with red eyes, and Day-of-the-Dead flames that read more altar piece than arena gift shop. "100% Rudo" across the chest is the whole argument.
Miguel Angel Lopez Diaz built the Rey Misterio character through CMLL and the Tijuana independents across the 1970s, 1980s, and into the 1990s, long before his nephew Oscar Gutierrez carried the mask north. The Sr. character was a rudo almost his entire career. That matters here because "rudo" in lucha is not just heel shorthand. It is a social contract between the performer and the audience in towns like Tijuana where kayfabe ran deeper and longer than it ever did north of the border. The nephew got WCW in 1996 and an eventual WWE Hall of Fame ring, but the uncle built the mythology. Merch honoring the Sr. on his own terms, not as footnote to the nephew's career, is genuinely uncommon. The Lucha Libre Independent vendor tag dates this to the modern era of lucha tribute apparel, but the graphic language is lifted straight from the late-career visual identity Rey Sr. carried into the 1990s.
The uncle's shirt, not the nephew's, from the era when rudo meant something specific.
This copy presents in XL with the kind of heavyweight cotton build the tribute run productions favored. The black base is strong, no significant fade visible, and the screen print shows clean registration on the skull and cross without the cracking that shows up on overwashed copies. The Day-of-the-Dead flame work around the lower print is the most wear-prone zone on pieces like this. Before you commit, run a finger across the flame edges and check the cuff seam for any stress along the hem fold.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the production year and vendor print run via the interior label and tag stack, which on Lucha Libre Independent pieces typically carries a date code or catalog reference.

70s / 80s Sportswear
70s and 80s sportswear at the shop is pre-licensing, pre-collab, pre-resell. Single-stitch tees, raglan sleeves, chain-stitched team names, blanks that outlasted the brands printed on them. 70s apparel arrives creased, sun-softened, sometimes repaired by a previous owner. We leave the repairs, note them in the photos, and list each garment against the tag.
