Resistance Fall of Man PS3
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Resistance: Fall of Man is the Insomniac Games-developed launch title that shipped alongside the PlayStation 3 in November 2006, positioned from day one as the system's technical flagship and the game Sony needed to make the $599 console feel worth the price.
Insomniac came into the PS3 launch with a strong track record from the Ratchet and Clank series on PS2, and Resistance was their bet on a different register entirely. The alternate-history premise drops a 1950s-era Earth into a full-scale Chimera invasion, keeping the postwar aesthetic intact while replacing Cold War anxiety with something more visceral. The game's real signature was the weapon design: the Bullseye with its tagging mechanic, the Auger firing through walls, a whole arsenal built around ideas you had not seen in shooters running at the time. At launch in November 2006 it ran on hardware that cost more than most living room televisions, and Resistance was the argument that the Cell processor and Blu-ray storage could do things other platforms could not. It shipped alongside the system in North America and remained the go-to demo disc for PS3 owners through most of early 2007 before the broader Sony first-party catalog caught up.
The shooter that had to justify a six-hundred-dollar box and the entire Blu-ray bet.
This copy comes in the standard PS3 Blu-ray keepcase with the original cover art, the skull in the military helmet over wartime rubble, the art direction leaning into the 1940s-50s palette even on the box. PS3 launch-era cases are full-size Blu-ray, taller and wider than what came later in the slim-case reissues, so the shelf presence is different. Check the disc surface under good light. Insomniac titles from this period see real collector traffic now that PS3 backward compatibility conversations have pushed the library back into focus. The spine text should read the full Insomniac Games credit without any "Greatest Hits" red banner overprint.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm disc is the original 2006 launch pressing, not a later Greatest Hits reissue (Greatest Hits copies carry a red banner on the spine and revised front cover text).

The PlayStation Index
Sony's polygon era rebuilt what a console could look like on a shelf. y2k PlayStation releases shipped with jewel cases, foldout manuals, demo discs, and promotional boxes that were treated as disposable at the time. The ones that held on, through moves and attic boxes and thrift bins, land at the shop with the printing still sharp. We list them with the marks honest.
