PGA Tour Golf 2 Sega Genesis
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
PGA Tour Golf II on Sega Genesis is the 1992 EA Sports release developed by Polygames, the second entry in EA's flagship 16-bit golf simulation series. The black cartridge with the yellow tab is the authentic production format for this title. Cartridge only, no box, pre-owned.
EA Sports was hitting its stride in 1992. The label had launched only the year before, and golf was one of the first categories it owned on Genesis. PGA Tour Golf II expanded on the original by adding new courses and a more developed career mode, landing at a moment when 16-bit sports simulation was the serious alternative to arcade action. John Daly had just won the 1991 PGA Championship at Crooked Creek as an unknown alternate, and the PGA Tour brand carried real weight in American sports culture heading into the 1992 season. Fred Couples would take the Masters in April of that year. The timing of this cartridge aligns with peak PGA Tour cultural visibility, when Sunday afternoon golf was pulling television ratings and EA was capitalizing on every bit of it. This is 16-bit golf simulation at the moment the genre was still figuring out what it could be, before the PC took the category and ran with it.
The swing meter that taught a generation patience, one three-click sequence at a time.
This copy has the original black Genesis cartridge shell with the yellow label tab present, which is the authentic production format. Pre-owned condition, cartridge only. Plays on any North American Sega Genesis console without modification. Color saturation on the course graphics holds up on real hardware in a way that emulation tends to flatten. If you are running a Genesis shelf, this fills the early EA Sports gap cleanly. Turn the cartridge over and check the rear label seam for any cracking or label lift before you commit.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the 1992 production year and EA Sports / Polygames development credit against the cartridge label and any board markings visible at the connector edge.

The Sega Era
Sega's 90s catalogue moved fast and took risks. Genesis, Saturn, Dreamcast, the arcades that fed them, the merchandise that trailed each launch. The blue-ribbon years produced cartridges, plush, promotional cards, and magazine inserts that rarely made it past the living room floor. What landed here was stored carefully enough to survive two console generations.
