Uchhannanchan no Honoo no Challenger: Denryuu IraIra Bou is a 1997 Japan-exclusive Nintendo 64 cartridge developed by Hudson Soft, built around one of the most reliably cruel segments in Japanese television history. The IraIra Bou challenge, a metal wand guided through an electrified wire maze without touching the sides, became a recurring torture device on the Ucchan Nanchan comedy duo's variety show "Honoo no Challenger," and Hudson translated that voltage-and-shame format directly into cartridge form. Never released outside Japan, never localized, never given a North American or European equivalent.

By 1997 the N64 library was deep in its stride. "Super Mario 64" had already redrawn what a console launch could look like. "Wave Race 64," "Star Fox 64," and "GoldenEye 007" were either out or days from release, and third-party Japanese developers were treating the platform as a serious game-show translation machine. Hudson Soft, already carrying decades of credibility from Bomberman and the PC Engine era, knew exactly what they were doing here. The show itself had the kind of grassroots notoriety that made this cartridge a genuine retail item in Japan, not a novelty spin-off. Ucchan Nanchan (Hiroyuki Tanaka and Noritake Kinashi) were mainstream Japanese comedy fixtures, and the game rode that recognizability directly to store shelves.
