N64 NFL Quarterback Club 98 in Box
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
NFL Quarterback Club 98 by Acclaim is a Nintendo 64 cartridge from 1997, complete in box, representing the peak of Acclaim's NFL exclusivity run on the N64 platform. Brett Favre is on the cover, number 4, arm cocked, Green Bay gold visible behind him. This is a CIB copy, meaning cartridge, box, and the original insert or manual are all present. That matters for grading and it matters for shelf presence.
1997 was a particular moment for the N64 football landscape. EA Sports had locked Madden down on PlayStation, which left the N64 market open to Acclaim's Quarterback Club franchise to operate as the de facto NFL simulation on Nintendo's hardware. This was Favre's absolute prime. He had just quarterbacked the Packers through Super Bowl XXXI the previous January, beating the New England Patriots 35-21 in New Orleans, and he was riding a run of three consecutive NFL MVP awards from 1995 through 1997. Putting his face on the box was not a marketing guess. He was the most dominant player in the league, and this was his cover. The QB Club series leaned into the NFLPA license and built its identity around real player likenesses even when the on-field product was fighting for ground against Madden's reputation. On N64, for this season, it had the field largely to itself.

This copy is complete in box, which means the condition of the box corners, the tray insert, and the manual all factor into how you grade it. The cartridge itself should seat cleanly with no label fade or pin corrosion. Box graphics on a 1997 N64 release are printed on a coated surface that does show shelf wear at the top and bottom flaps first, so pull those seams and check the gloss before committing to a grade. Good display piece as-is. Check the bottom edge of the box tray insert where it meets the cartridge tray cutout, that seam separates on compressed box copies and tells you exactly how this one was stored.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm all three components present (cartridge, box, manual/insert) and cross-check the box condition grade against flap seam wear before listing as CIB.

The Nintendo Archive
This is part of Nintendo's 90s run, the era that built the shop's back wall. Nintendo shipped cartridges, plush, promotional oddities, and packaging that most buyers threw out on the way to the game. What survived, mostly by accident, ends up here. Every piece is cleaned, photographed, and listed one at a time. Nothing on the archive shelf is a duplicate.
