Mattel WWE Retro Wendi Richter Action Figure
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Mattel's WWE Retro line Wendi Richter figure captures the mid-1980s WWF rock-and-wrestling peak in the chunky, articulated style of the original Hasbro run. Retro packaging carries the classic gold WWF block logo, Richter is posed in her signature blue outfit and sunglasses, and the card lists "Twisted Steel" as her finishing move. This is Mattel paying direct tribute to the Hasbro mold language from 1990–1994, not a modern hyper-detailed collector sculpt. The aesthetic choice is the point.
Wendi Richter was the top women's draw in WWF during the period that put professional wrestling on MTV. The 1985 "War to Settle the Score" at Madison Square Garden drew somewhere around one million pay-per-view buys and put Richter opposite Leilani Kai under a Cyndi Lauper co-sign that no women's wrestler had seen before or since. Richter held the WWF Women's Championship across two separate reigns in 1984 and 1985. Her run ended abruptly at the 1985 MSG card against the Spider Lady, a result that remains one of the most debated finishes in that decade's booking history. The Hasbro line that Mattel is referencing here never actually produced a Richter figure during its original 1990–1994 run, which makes this Retro release something the original toy line left on the table. Mattel corrected that gap. A figure honoring the woman who drew MSG shoulder-to-shoulder with Hulk Hogan in 1985 belongs in this format.
Without Richter there's no women's main events at WrestleMania.
The card back and blister condition are the first things to check on this copy. Retro figures mint on card move differently than loose ones, so note whether the blister seal is flush at the edges or showing any lift. The figure itself should display the blue gear cleanly with no paint bleed at the neckline, and the sunglasses accessory is the piece most likely to have shifted inside the blister during transit. Stand it next to any original 1990s Hasbro WWF card and the size match and font callback are immediate. Check the card's top staple tabs for any crease or fold before you display it.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm this is the standard Mattel WWE Retro single-card release and not a variant or fan-channel exclusive packaging run.
Without Richter there's no women's main events at WrestleMania.

Wrestling merch from the 80s lived on the bodies of kids who watched pay-per-views on grainy basement TVs. WWE shipped shirts, belts, programs, and figures aimed at the same audience every week. The pieces that survived through tag-team eras and company rebrands get inspected in Las Vegas and listed one at a time.
