Mattel WWE Retro Lex Luger Action Figure
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Mattel's WWE Retro line brought back the aesthetic of the original Hasbro WWF figures from the late 1980s and early 1990s, and the Lex Luger entry in that line is one of the more loaded pieces in the run. Retro Luger comes carded in the orange-border packaging that directly echoes the Hasbro card art period, with the figure itself built to that same compact, stylized scale. The Patriot Press signature move badge sits intact on the card. The paint application on the figure reads clean at arm's length, with the red-white-and-blue trunks rendered in the flat, bold register that defined the Hasbro originals.
Luger is dressed as the 1993 version of The Total Package: American flag trunks, white boots, the full Lex Express patriot character that WWF ran through SummerSlam 1993 and into the Royal Rumble push. That campaign was one of the stranger booking experiments of the run: a cross-country bus tour, a legitimate physical specimen, a title shot against Yokozuna on the Fourth of July aboard the USS Intrepid, and a crowd that genuinely bought in. Luger pinned Yokozuna that day but could not capture the belt on a count-out. The championship run never materialized the way the company positioned it, which makes the iconography of that look, the trunks, the boots, the red-white-and-blue branding, a fixed point in WWF history regardless of how the politics around it played out. Mattel keyed in on that version of Luger deliberately. This is not the WCW Total Package or the NWO Luger. This is the bus tour Luger, which is a distinct thing.
Mattel froze the body slam heard around a nation in six inches of articulated plastic.
This copy comes pre-owned but presented in original packaging. The card shows the kind of shelf or storage wear you expect from a carded figure that has moved through collector hands. There is light corner softening on the card stock, consistent with display time rather than rough handling. Check the bubble seal around the perimeter for any lifting or stress cracks before you make the call on display versus open.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the Patriot Press signature move badge is present and the bubble seal shows no separation at the card edge.

Wrestling merch from the 90s lived on the bodies of kids who watched pay-per-views on grainy basement TVs. WWE shipped shirts, belts, programs, and figures aimed at the same audience every week. The pieces that survived through tag-team eras and company rebrands get inspected in Las Vegas and listed one at a time.
