The piece

Wolfgang Petersen's 1997 Air Force One arrived on VHS in the original retail clamshell, the summer blockbuster that made "Get off my plane" an instant catchphrase. Harrison Ford as President James Marshall, hijacked at 30,000 feet by Gary Oldman's Russian terrorist. Minor edge wear on the case; the film inside remains intact.

The president throws a terrorist out of an airlock and the VHS holds every frame.
VHS / RENTAL COUNTER

The Rental Counter

Before streaming flattened the difference between movies, VHS was a physical act. Rentals, buybacks, Blockbuster sleeves, promo tapes, ex-rentals with security stickers still on the side. 90s tapes outlived the stores they came from. We keep them in their original cases where possible and note every sticker, sun-fade, and sleeve crease in the photography.

VHS cover for "Air Force One" starring Harrison Ford. A large close-up of Ford's face dominates the top of the cover. Intense, determined stare. Below, the presidential Boeing 747 with "United States of America" livery streaks across the frame. "Harrison Ford" appears in bold text at top, with "AIR FORCE ONE" in white below. A quote from Peter Travers of Rolling Stone reads "Breathtaking, gripping, nail biting, edge-of-your-seat entertainment!" A Wolfgang Petersen film. Cover shows minor edge wear.

The 1997 summer blockbuster that answered the question: what if the President of the United States was basically Han Solo? Ford plays President James Marshall, who refuses to leave Air Force One after Russian terrorists (led by Gary Oldman at his most unhinged) hijack the plane with his family aboard. Wolfgang Petersen (Das Boot, In the Line of Fire) directed with white-knuckle precision. "Get off my plane" became an instant catchphrase. The film grossed $315 million worldwide and proved that Ford could carry an action movie well into his 50s. The greatest fictional president in movie history.

VHS in original retail clamshell with minor edge wear. Pre-owned. See photos for full condition details.. The President fights back, at 30,000 feet.
