Starter's "The Dynasty" Chicago Bulls championship tee dates to the back half of the 1990s, a period when the franchise had just closed out the second three-peat and the league was still processing what it had witnessed. Black body, gold and red graphics, size Large. Six Larry O'Brien trophies run across the chest, each one stamped with a year: 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998. That lineup tells the whole story before you read a single word of copy.
The Bulls won those six titles in eight seasons with two distinct runs separated by a retirement and a baseball detour. The first three-peat ended after the 1993 Finals. The second opened in 1996 with a 72-10 regular season that still holds company with the best win totals in NBA history. Phil Jackson coached both stretches. Scottie Pippen played every ring year. The 1997 and 1998 Finals both went six games against Utah, both finished on the road. Starter was deep into NBA licensing at this point, producing team apparel from sideline jackets to commemorative tees, and a retrospective shirt bracketing the full dynasty run made obvious commercial sense in the months after the sixth title. That sixth ring also ended the run. The roster broke apart in the summer of 1998, the coaching staff left, and there was no seventh shot. So this shirt is, accurately, a close-of-chapter document.
Six trophies in eight years, printed the summer the dynasty closed and Jordan walked away for good.
The copy you have is a size Large on a black cotton body, with gold and red screen print across the chest. On a shirt from this production window the print registration is worth checking closely, especially where gold ink sits over black. Screen print from the late 1990s on a Starter tee tends to hold well when stored flat, but heavy wear leaves the gold with a fine craze across the surface. Check the cuff hem on both sleeves, where Starter's construction from this period will show you the clearest read on wash wear and shrinkage.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the championship years printed on the trophies read 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, 1998, establishing post-1998 production and ruling out any earlier partial-dynasty print run.
The 90s Rack
The 90s rack is where most of the shop's apparel lives. Team tees, tour shirts, promotional jackets, wrestling pullovers, movie tie-in prints that nobody saved on purpose. 90s production runs were large and the survivors are the ones that dodged the rag bin. Each garment is measured flat, photographed on a neutral ground, and listed against the tag size.
