90s Lee Sport New York Giants Sweater Size Large
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Lee Sport's 90s Giants sweater in royal blue is exactly what the decade's NFL licensing looked like at its most deliberate. Heavyweight crewneck construction, a red V-neck insert panel breaking up the blue, red side stripe accents running the body. The front carries three stacked embroidery lines: "NEW YORK" above an interlocking ny logo, "GIANTS" in large block letters below that, then "NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE NFL" with the shield beneath it. Left sleeve has a Giants helmet patch. Every element here is raised stitch. Nothing is printed.
Lee Sport was one of the two or three licensees that defined how NFL apparel looked on retail floors through the late 1980s and into the mid-1990s, before Champion and Starter got crowded out by the vertical consolidation that followed the league's exclusive-apparel deal era. The Giants during this stretch were coming off consecutive Super Bowl wins in 1987 and 1991, the LT and Phil Simms years giving way to the Phil Simms-to-Dave Brown handoff and the Jeff Hostetler bridge period. If this sweater dates to the early 90s, it would have hit retail during a stretch when Giants merchandise was moving because the team had just won its second Lombardi in five seasons. Blue and red crewneck pullover sweaters in this weight class were positioned as the gameday-to-street crossover option, something a fan could wear from the upper deck of Giants Stadium to the parking lot without reaching for a coat.
Lee Sport built this when NFL sweaters still looked like varsity letterman pieces, not fan gear.
This copy presents clean. The embroidery sits high and shows no significant pilling or unraveling on the raised stitching. Royal blue is saturated with no visible fade on the body. Size Large from this period runs closer to a modern medium-to-large depending on build, and the heavyweight knit means the shoulder seam sits where it was cut, not where years of washing pushed it. At the cuff, check the ribbing at the seam edge for any separation from the sleeve body, which is the first place this construction shows wear.
OWNER VERIFY: Production year range within the 1990s, confirmed against Lee Sport label and any NFL Properties copyright tag on the interior.

The 90s Rack
The 90s rack is where most of the shop's apparel lives. Team tees, tour shirts, promotional jackets, wrestling pullovers, movie tie-in prints that nobody saved on purpose. 90s production runs were large and the survivors are the ones that dodged the rag bin. Each garment is measured flat, photographed on a neutral ground, and listed against the tag size.
