Apparel Sales Co Kentucky Wildcats shirt, 1990s production, gray thermal-knit body with royal blue raglan sleeves and an embroidered Wildcats logo on the left chest. White piping runs the cuffs and a ribbed gray collar closes the neck. Raglan construction on a licensed collegiate piece was a deliberate choice in that period, built for the fan who wanted something between a jersey and a standard tee. The thermal knit reads heavier than a standard cotton jersey, which is part of why these pieces survived the decade in wearable shape.
Kentucky basketball in the 1990s was one of the loudest programs in the country. Rick Pitino rebuilt the Wildcats into a national force after the probation years, and the program returned to the Final Four in 1993 before winning the national championship in 1996. Tubby Smith took over in 1997 and won another title in 1998. Those back-to-back championship runs produced enormous fan demand for licensed apparel, and Apparel Sales Co was working the licensed collegiate market through that entire stretch. The thermal-knit fabric and raglan cut place this piece in that mid-to-late 1990s production run. UK gear from those years sells because the program was genuinely that good, and pieces with embroidered chest logos rather than screen print tend to hold their register better over time. The royal blue on a gray thermal body is also a cleaner colorway than a lot of the all-over printed pieces that came out of that same market.
Thermal-knit body, embroidered chest logo, peak Pitino-era Wildcats merch from Apparel Sales Co.
This copy carries the gray thermal body, the royal blue sleeves, and the embroidered Wildcats chest mark. Condition reads solid from here. The embroidery sits flush with no visible fraying at the border stitching, which is a good sign on a piece this age. The white cuff piping and the ribbed collar are the first places thermal-knit licensed pieces from this period show their age, so flip the cuffs and check the piping seam before you decide on condition grade.

The 90s Rack
The 90s rack is where most of the shop's apparel lives. Team tees, tour shirts, promotional jackets, wrestling pullovers, movie tie-in prints that nobody saved on purpose. 90s production runs were large and the survivors are the ones that dodged the rag bin. Each garment is measured flat, photographed on a neutral ground, and listed against the tag size.
