80s Starter Los Angeles Lakers Satin Bomber Jacket Size Large
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Starter's Los Angeles Lakers satin bomber from the 1980s is the jacket the Forum crowd would have recognized the second it walked in the door. Gold shell, purple and white shoulder striping, embroidered Lakers crest on the left chest, NBA patch on the right arm. Quilted lining inside, snap-button front, size Large. This is Showtime-era Lakers merch at its most direct: no licensing committee softening the colors, no sublimation print, just embroidered tackle twill and high-sheen satin in the right gold.
Starter was not yet the omnipresent force it became in the early 1990s. Through the 1980s the New Haven company was building its NFL and NBA program piece by piece, and the Lakers were the franchise you wanted on your roster. The Showtime teams won five championships between 1980 and 1988. Magic Johnson was running the fast break at the Forum in Inglewood. Kareem Abdul-Jabbar was posting up skyhooks. Pat Riley was on the sideline in a suit. The national appetite for Lakers gear during those years was unlike anything the league had produced before. Starter's satin bombers came out of that moment as the premium sideline and fan piece: cleaner than a T-shirt, more wearable than a game jersey, the kind of item that showed up on coaches, trainers, and the people who were close enough to the game to want something real. Las Vegas has always had a Lakers pipeline, and pieces from that decade still turn up here with genuine wear history behind them.

This copy presents clean. The satin shell holds its sheen without the cracking or peeling that takes out a lot of jackets from this period. Snaps function sharp across all closures. The quilted interior lining shows no tears. The embroidered Lakers logo on the chest sits flat with no thread pulls. At a Large this fits like a classic bomber: boxy through the chest with a shorter body length. Put it on a display form or wear it straight. Before you commit, run your thumb along the shoulder seam where the gold meets the purple stripe and check for any separation at the stitch line.
OWNER VERIFY: confirm production decade via inside collar label, which should carry late-1970s or 1980s Starter branding and country of origin consistent with that period.
