2002 WWE Rey Mysterio Mask Shirt Size XXl
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
WWE licensed this in 2002, shortly after Rey Mysterio made his SmackDown debut that summer. Black cotton tee, mask graphic rendered in white and red line work, no player portrait, no text beyond the brand mark. The design lets the mask speak without a face behind it, which was a deliberate call: Mysterio's mask was already more recognizable than most wrestlers' faces by the time this shirt hit retail.
Mysterio had spent the late 1990s tearing through WCW's cruiserweight division, the kind of weekly television run that built a fanbase long before a WWE contract materialized. When he arrived on SmackDown in the summer of 2002, the roster already included Brock Lesnar, Edge, Kurt Angle, and a midcard deep enough that debuts had to earn their footing fast. Mysterio earned it. The 619 was already in his arsenal, the lucha foundation already locked in from years in AAA and ECW before WCW. The 2002 WWE run was the mainstream American arrival of a performer the hardcore crowd had been watching for half a decade. Shirts from this debut-year window are thin on the ground at this point. Most got worn until they gave out. A black tee with a clean mask graphic from 2002 is not a common find at 24 years out from printing.
The mask came back in 2002 and WWE's cruiserweight division was never the same.
This copy is XXL, which in 2002 WWE merch sizing reads generously. The black is holding, no significant fade visible in the mask graphic. White and red line work on a shirt this age can crack or peel at the detail points, so the fine line segments inside the mask are worth a close look before you pull the trigger on condition. One piece in the shop. Check the interior collar label for the copyright year, and run a finger along the mask's outline to feel for any print separation at the edge.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the copyright year on the interior label reads 2002 and not a later reissue date.

Wrestling merch from the y2k lived on the bodies of kids who watched pay-per-views on grainy basement TVs. WWE shipped shirts, belts, programs, and figures aimed at the same audience every week. The pieces that survived through tag-team eras and company rebrands get inspected in Las Vegas and listed one at a time.
