1999 Tony Stewart Home Depot Habitat For Humanity Nascar 1/24 Diecast #20 Action
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Action Racing Collectables produced this 1/24 scale die-cast of Tony Stewart's #20 Home Depot car from the 1999 NASCAR Winston Cup season, finished in the Habitat for Humanity livery that ran on a select number of cars that year. Full die-cast body, replica decals, and the orange Home Depot colorway across the hood and quarter panels. This is the 1999 Stewart, his rookie year in Cup, which makes it a different animal from any later Home Depot issue in the Action catalog.
Stewart came into 1999 as the most hyped Cup rookie in years. He had won the IRL championship in 1997, taken the Indy 500 that same year, and Joe Gibbs Racing put him straight into the #20 Home Depot machine alongside Bobby Labonte. He won three races that season and finished fourth in points, the best rookie points finish the series had seen in a long time. The Habitat for Humanity co-branding was a one-off charity initiative Home Depot ran through their motorsports marketing arm, which is why this particular livery shows up less often in the secondary market than the standard orange Home Depot scheme. Action was the premier licensed die-cast producer for NASCAR in this period, and their 1/24 bank and collector editions from 1999 were manufactured to a tighter tolerance than some earlier runs.
Stewart's rookie season wasn't development, it was an announcement on four Goodyears.
This copy presents well in the orange colorway with the Habitat for Humanity graphics intact across the hood. The base crazing and decal edge lift are the two things to check on any 1999-era Action 1/24: run your eye along the lower rocker panel decals and then look at the undercarriage paint where it meets the chassis edge. If both are clean, you have a strong display piece. Packaging condition is shown in the photos. Check the chassis edge where the body meets the base plate before you pull it for display.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the specific Habitat for Humanity race event or race number this livery corresponds to, if a tie-in race date appears on the box or the base plate.
