1997 Top Cow switchblade Shirt
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Top Cow Productions printed this Witchblade tee in 1997, right as the comic was hitting its peak velocity with collectors. Black cotton, single character centered, Sara Pezzini locked in a full power pose with the Witchblade armor coiling around her body. The gauntlet hand rising up behind her in orange and yellow flames is the visual that defined the book's promotional identity that year. Metallic gold lettering spells out WITCHBLADE across the bottom. One of one.
Top Cow launched Witchblade in November 1995 through Image Comics, and by 1997 the title had earned enough pull to warrant licensed merch that went beyond the comic shop spinner rack. This was the height of the independent boom years, when books like Witchblade, Darkness, and Fathom were moving real numbers and building the kind of reader devotion that made a character tee a genuine statement. Marc Silvestri's house was putting out some of the most visually aggressive superhero art in print, and a shirt like this carried that same energy off the page. The gauntlet design became so associated with the character that it outlasted every relaunch, the TV adaptation, the anime, all of it. A 1997 promo tee predates the TNT live-action series by two years, placing it squarely in the pre-crossover moment when Witchblade was still a comic reader's property.
Sara Pezzini in full gauntlet manifestation, rendered in the high-contrast ink style that made Top Cow unmistakable.
This copy reads as black cotton with no visible fade on the flame work, which on shirts this age is the first place color abandons the print. The gold lettering at the base of the design holds its metallic quality, no cracking visible across the face of the text. Condition on promo tees from this period is always a conversation because they were made to be worn, not filed. Check the collar ribbing and the hem stitching before you decide on sizing, both will tell you how this one was stored.

The 90s Rack
The 90s rack is where most of the shop's apparel lives. Team tees, tour shirts, promotional jackets, wrestling pullovers, movie tie-in prints that nobody saved on purpose. 90s production runs were large and the survivors are the ones that dodged the rag bin. Each garment is measured flat, photographed on a neutral ground, and listed against the tag size.
