Armitron's 1995 Marvin the Martian gold-tone bangle watch is a licensed Warner Bros. character piece from the peak years of the Looney Tunes accessories boom. No clasp, no buckle. The bangle slides on at the wrist, Roman helmet and green skirt centered on the white dial, Marvin standing at full attention the way he always does right before something goes very wrong for him.
The mid-1990s Looney Tunes licensing wave was real and it was everywhere. Warner Bros. Consumer Products had been building toward it since the late 1980s, and by 1993 and 1994 the catalog had exploded outward into apparel, accessories, home goods, and collectibles at every price point. Marvin the Martian specifically rode a second wave of popularity during this run, moving from cult favorite to front-of-rack. Space Jam was still a year out in 1995, but the appetite for Marvin on product was already at full tilt. Armitron had the character watch category locked down across this stretch, producing bangle styles, resin case styles, and novelty formats for Tweety, Bugs, Taz, and Marvin under official WB license. The 1995 copyright date on the dial puts this piece right in the middle of that run, before the Space Jam bump pushed the whole Looney Tunes licensing economy into a different gear entirely.
