NHL Hitz Pro (2003) was Midway's evolution of their arcade hockey series. Upgrading from the over-the-top 3-on-3 format of previous Hitz games to a full 5-on-5 experience with a franchise mode, while keeping the hard-hitting, fast-paced gameplay that made the series a fan favorite. The Detroit Red Wings on the cover. Featuring Nicklas Lidstrom, one of the greatest defensemen in NHL history. Represented hockey's premier franchise of the early 2000s. Midway's sports games (Hitz, Blitz, Slugfest) offered an arcade alternative to EA's simulation-focused titles. Original Xbox hockey games are a niche but passionate collecting category.
