Wolfen is not a werewolf movie — it's something stranger and smarter. Albert Finney investigates a series of brutal murders in New York City that lead to something ancient and predatory living in the ruins of the South Bronx. The film's use of thermal-vision POV shots predated Predator by six years. Wolfen was critically respected but underseen, making it a cult favorite among horror fans who know their stuff. The Warner Bros. Hits VHS release with the wolf face and glowing eyes is a striking piece of home video packaging.
