Vintage Snap On Racing Leather Jacket Size XXl
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
A Snap-on Tools x Harley-Davidson co-branded leather racing jacket in XXL, black shell, checkered flag sleeve panels, red racing stripes running the length of the body. The embroidered Snap-on script sits on the left chest; the Harley-Davidson bar-and-shield patch anchors the right. Two of the most recognizable corporate marks in American motorsport on one jacket, and it works.
The overlap between Harley-Davidson and Snap-on is not accidental. Both brands spent the 1990s aggressively pursuing the same customer: the American working guy who wrenched on weekends and watched NASCAR on Sundays. Snap-on was deep into racing sponsorship through that decade, and Harley was running co-branded licensing programs with everyone from Coca-Cola to Motorola as the Milwaukee company pushed its lifestyle identity beyond the bike itself. The checkered flag panel construction and the racing stripe layout here read as late 1990s to early 2000s production, the period when Harley's licensing division was at its most prolific and co-branded leather outerwear was a serious segment of the collectible jacket market. NASCAR had just exploded into mainstream American pop culture after Gordon's 1995 and 1997 championship runs brought younger audiences to the sport, and the whole ecosystem of branded racing leather followed the viewership numbers upward.
The checkered panels run wrist to shoulder in sewn appliqué, not screen print.
This copy is a genuine leather shell, not a pleather or vinyl substitute. Check the sleeve seams where the checkered flag panel meets the main body leather. On pieces from this era, that seam is where you will find the first signs of delamination or color fade if the jacket has been stored poorly. The red stripe print on the chest and sleeves should still show clean edge definition. If the bar-and-shield patch is heat-pressed rather than stitched, that narrows the production window toward the mid-2000s end of the range. XXL in vintage American moto-leather typically runs generous through the chest and short through the body, so the hem-to-collar drop is worth measuring against a modern size guide. Collar stitching is the tell on construction quality: run your thumb along the inside collar seam before you commit.
OWNER VERIFY: confirm production decade via interior label date code or copyright year, as the Harley-Davidson licensing body changed label formatting meaningfully between the late 1990s and mid-2000s runs.
