Vintage Checkered Long Sleeve Flannel Size Large
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Heavyweight wool buffalo check in red and black, cut as a large, built like outerwear. This is a vintage American workwear flannel from an era when flannel meant field-grade weight and a pointed collar meant you were dressing up by the standard of the job. The scale of the check is large, almost bold enough to read from across a room, and the construction belongs to that dense, stiff-hand territory that softens with wear rather than pills out.
Buffalo check flannel at this weight was the work uniform of the American Northwest and upper Midwest through the mid-20th century. The pattern itself, two-color alternating blocks equal in size, has roots going back to the 1800s in both British and North American mill culture, and by the postwar decades it had become the dominant print in heavyweight wool shirts from the major domestic producers. Brands like Woolrich and Pendleton were running this exact colorway in this exact construction through the 1950s and 1960s into the 1970s. Malone and the house labels of work-wear chains followed the same template. Red and black was the most-produced combination by a wide margin. Dual chest pockets with button flaps and single-needle construction at the collar were the production standard for the working-grade tier. Drop tail hem came with the territory. This piece belongs to that lineage. The weight is legitimate enough that it functions as an unlined overshirt or light layering piece in colder months, not as a warm-weather flannel.
Real flannel weighs something and was built to work outdoors in cold that actually matters.
This copy is in good vintage condition with the patina you expect from a shirt that actually got worn. The density of the weave means any fading reads as earned character rather than deterioration. Size is tagged Large. Pointed collar is intact, no fraying visible at the points. Button flaps on both chest pockets are functional. The cuff seams are where this shirt will tell you the most about how many washes it has taken, so flip both cuffs and look for any thread separation or shrink-pull before committing.
OWNER VERIFY: Production era and original manufacturer label, if present inside the collar or on the tail hem.

The Apparel Rack
The 90s rack is where most of the shop's apparel lives. Team tees, tour shirts, promotional jackets, wrestling pullovers, movie tie-in prints that nobody saved on purpose. vintage production runs were large and the survivors are the ones that dodged the rag bin. Each garment is measured flat, photographed on a neutral ground, and listed against the tag size.
