VHS Sealed From Russia With Love
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
"From Russia with Love" on VHS, factory-sealed in shrink wrap, part of the MGM/UA James Bond 007 Collection release that brought the Connery catalog back to tape in the early-to-mid 1990s. The sweepstakes insert is still tucked inside the shrink, which means this copy went from manufacturing to a shelf somewhere and never got opened. That is not common at this age.
The Bond 007 Collection packaging run was a full-catalog push, timed to keep 007 visible between the Dalton exit and the Brosnan handoff. "From Russia with Love" (1963) was the second Bond film and the one the franchise still measures itself against. Istanbul safe-house tension, SPECTRE operating as a genuine shadow organization, Robert Shaw's Grant as one of the few adversaries who could credibly out-pace Connery in a room. The film holds up because it is more about chess than spectacle. By the time the 007 Collection VHS line was pressing these tapes, the Connery era had passed the 30-year mark, and MGM/UA was betting that the catalog would sell on reputation alone. It did. The sweepstakes insert dates the pressing more narrowly than the box art will, and on this copy that insert is still in place, readable through the shrink.
Second Bond film, still the coldest one, sealed since the Brosnan era swept Blockbuster.
Sealed VHS from this catalog run is a particular category. The shrink on this copy appears intact with no splits or lifting at the seam corners. The cassette inside has never loaded into a deck. The spine of the case should show the 007 logo and the title in the font consistent with the full Collection series. If you are displaying this, the shrink catches light cleanly and the insert is visible through the front face of the wrap. Check the seam where the shrink folds across the top edge of the case for any stress cracking before you commit to the display position.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the exact pressing year via the sweepstakes insert offer expiration date or the copyright notice on the spine label.

The Rental Counter
Before streaming flattened the difference between movies, VHS was a physical act. Rentals, buybacks, Blockbuster sleeves, promo tapes, ex-rentals with security stickers still on the side. 90s tapes outlived the stores they came from. We keep them in their original cases where possible and note every sticker, sun-fade, and sleeve crease in the photography.
