The Crow Stairway to Heaven VHS
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
"The Crow: Stairway to Heaven" is a 1998 VHS release of the syndicated TV series that spun directly out of Brandon Lee's 1994 film. The show ran for one season on syndication, adapting the supernatural revenge premise from the Miramax theatrical release and James O'Barr's original comic into a weekly format with Mark Dacascos stepping into the crow paint as Eric Draven.
The series arrived at a complicated moment for the franchise. The 1994 film had become a genuine cultural touchstone, partly because of the tragedy surrounding Lee's death on set in March 1993 and partly because Alex Proyas built something that actually held up visually. The TV adaptation had to carry that weight and translate it to a budget that syndicated genre television could support. Dacascos was a credible martial artist with a resume that included "Only the Strong" (1993) and "Double Dragon" (1994), so the action beats translated. The show leaned into the goth-noir texture of the source material rather than sanitizing it, which kept the core fanbase engaged even as it moved from theaters to weekly episodic format. By 1998, when this VHS hit retail, the franchise was holding its own against the post-"Scream" horror and dark fantasy wave that was running through late-90s cable and syndication.
The show that tried to turn a myth into a procedural and left only tapes behind.
This copy shows visible wear consistent with a tape that was actually used, plus a torn lower right corner on the case. The cover art is worth noting: crow face paint rendered in white and black, deep red and orange firelight, a silhouetted figure in a long coat walking through flames below the title treatment. That cover design is exactly what you want on a shelf display piece. Before you commit, pull the tape out of the shell side and check the window ribbon for any slack or oxide shedding near the leader.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm this is the 1998 single-tape syndicated TV series release and not one of the later Crow theatrical sequel tapes from the same period.

The Rental Counter
Before streaming flattened the difference between movies, VHS was a physical act. Rentals, buybacks, Blockbuster sleeves, promo tapes, ex-rentals with security stickers still on the side. 90s tapes outlived the stores they came from. We keep them in their original cases where possible and note every sticker, sun-fade, and sleeve crease in the photography.
