Sony PlayStation Action Bass CIB
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Action Bass on PS1 is a fishing simulation title published by Agetec and released in 2000 for the North American market. Complete in box, catalog number SLUS-01248, jewel case intact. The genre had a small but devoted following in the late PS1 run, and Agetec was one of the few publishers still dropping niche Japanese-origin titles stateside as the PS2 launch window was already in motion.
Bass fishing games carved out real shelf space in that 1999–2001 transition period. Sega Bass Fishing on Dreamcast had proved the genre had commercial legs outside Japan, and Sony's platform saw a handful of challengers try to ride that current. Action Bass came out of Victor Interactive Software in Japan before Agetec brought it west, and the translation kept the core mechanics intact: five real lake environments, tournament and free-fishing modes, and a lure selection that rewarded patience over button-mashing. This was not a party game. It was made for the kind of player who actually thought about water temperature and cast angle. That specificity of audience is why CIB copies are harder to find than the disc-only versions floating around secondhand markets. People who cared about this game kept the box.
The quarry was hero and predator both, frozen mid-leap in stop-motion drama.
This copy presents as complete: jewel case, disc, and manual all present. The cover art holds up well, the largemouth bass clearing the water surface with a lure in its jaw is one of the more dynamic images in the PS1 fishing genre. Condition on the jewel case and the spine of the manual are the first things to check in hand. The disc itself should show only light ring wear at most given typical storage for a title in this category. Check the inner hub ring on the disc face for any stress cracking before you commit, that is the pressure point most overlooked on PS1 jewel case titles.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm SLUS-01248 disc catalog number matches case insert and that manual is the correct North American printing.

The PlayStation Index
Sony's polygon era rebuilt what a console could look like on a shelf. y2k PlayStation releases shipped with jewel cases, foldout manuals, demo discs, and promotional boxes that were treated as disposable at the time. The ones that held on, through moves and attic boxes and thrift bins, land at the shop with the printing still sharp. We list them with the marks honest.
