Sony PlayStation 3 Batman Arkham Asylum Greatest Hits
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Batman: Arkham Asylum on PS3, Greatest Hits edition. Rocksteady Studios built this one in 2009 and it reset what a superhero game could be. Not a licensed cash-in, not a movie tie-in. A 12-hour-plus gothic brawler set entirely inside Arkham's walls, with a combat system clean enough that every studio in the genre spent the next decade chasing it. The Greatest Hits red case means this copy moved enough units to earn the reprint designation, which puts it in the post-launch window when the word of mouth had already done its work.
2009 was the year the open-world action genre was running full steam, and Arkham Asylum arrived mid-stride and changed the conversation. Rocksteady had one prior title to their name before this. The combat, the Freeflow system, the Predator rooms, the Riddler trophies scattered through the asylum corridors, these weren't borrowed from anywhere. Mark Hamill's Joker performance across this series started on Batman: The Animated Series in 1992 and ran through Arkham City before he retired the role; this is the disc where that theatrical run hit its peak, opposite Kevin Conroy's Batman, the same pairing fans had been hearing since Saturday morning television. Paul Dini wrote the script. The production had the animated universe DNA baked in at the authorial level, not just the casting level.
The platinum label Sony reserves for titles that moved half a million units and rewrote the rulebook.
This copy is the Greatest Hits variant, which carries the red banner across the top of the case rather than the standard black. Disc condition and case condition both matter here: Greatest Hits cases are PS3 standard Blu-ray shells and the tabs on the interior tray crack with age. The disc itself is pressed Blu-ray format, so surface scratches matter less than they would on a DVD-era title, but check the data layer for any clouding near the inner hub. Before this one goes home, turn the disc over and look at the hub ring under direct light.
OWNER VERIFY: Greatest Hits designation confirms post-launch reprint (not the 2009 first-press black-case version); verify disc surface and hub ring condition against photos before purchase.

The PlayStation Index
Sony's polygon era rebuilt what a console could look like on a shelf. y2k PlayStation releases shipped with jewel cases, foldout manuals, demo discs, and promotional boxes that were treated as disposable at the time. The ones that held on, through moves and attic boxes and thrift bins, land at the shop with the printing still sharp. We list them with the marks honest.
