PlayStation 2 ATV Off-Road Fury 2
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
ATV Off-Road Fury 2 on PlayStation 2 is a Greatest Hits release from Rainbow Studios, published by THQ, and it arrived in 2002 as the direct follow-up to one of the PS2's early breakout racing titles. Greatest Hits red-banner editions carry that designation because Sony's sales threshold was cleared, which means this disc saw real volume and real play. The physical copy in front of us is complete, which matters in the PS2 Greatest Hits pool where loose discs are common and complete sets are worth the premium.
THQ's ATV line arrived at the exact moment the PS2 was establishing what its library could do with arcade off-road physics. The original ATV Off-Road Fury came out in 2001 as a launch-window title that moved units fast. The sequel expanded the track count, deepened the customization, and added online play through the PS2's Network Adapter, which put it in a specific club: PS2 games that actually used the hardware's online capability before online console gaming was standard. Titles like SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs (2002) and Twisted Metal: Black Online (2002) were doing the same thing that year, and ATV Off-Road Fury 2 was in that conversation. Rainbow Studios had already built credibility on PC with the MX series before THQ brought them fully into console, and this release showed what that partnership could do with more development time.
Rainbow Studios built the quad physics before the genre got oversaturated and lazy.
The Greatest Hits banner is the red-top spine version, not the original black-spine release, so the disc label and case front will carry the Greatest Hits branding. Condition on Greatest Hits cases varies widely because these were high-volume rentals and resales. Check the disc surface under direct light for deep radial scratches, not surface swirls, which play through fine. The case hinges on these GH editions can stress-crack at the spine corners after repeated openings. Check the inner hinge seam where the disc tray meets the case spine before you commit.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm Greatest Hits red-banner edition vs. original black-spine release, and verify disc, manual, and case are all present for "complete" grading.

The PlayStation Index
Sony's polygon era rebuilt what a console could look like on a shelf. y2k PlayStation releases shipped with jewel cases, foldout manuals, demo discs, and promotional boxes that were treated as disposable at the time. The ones that held on, through moves and attic boxes and thrift bins, land at the shop with the printing still sharp. We list them with the marks honest.
