The Magic of Scheherazade (1989) was one of the most unique and underrated RPGs on the NES — an Arabian Nights-themed action RPG that blended real-time overhead combat with turn-based party battles, time travel mechanics, and a rich storyline inspired by One Thousand and One Nights. Culture Brain developed a game that was genuinely ambitious for its era — the combination of action and RPG elements, multiple party members, and a non-Western fantasy setting made it stand apart from everything else on the NES. The game has become a cult favorite among retro RPG enthusiasts who appreciate its creativity and depth. NES RPGs that dared to be different are among the most collectible cartridges in the library. A thousand and one adventures.
