Metal Gear Solid V (5) Ground Zeroes PS3
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes on PS3 is Kojima Productions' 2014 prologue chapter to "The Phantom Pain," built on the Fox Engine and designed as a compressed proof-of-concept for what open-world stealth could do on the hardware. This is the standalone disc release, not a digital code, not a bundle insert.
Ground Zeroes arrived at a complicated moment for the MGS franchise and for Konami's relationship with Hideo Kojima. The Fox Engine was the first Kojima Productions engine built from scratch for multiplatform parity, and the PS3 version ran at a locked 30fps in a way the earlier PS2-era MGS titles never could manage on comparable hardware of their time. The mission structure broke from series tradition hard: one primary mission (Camp Omega, Cuba, Big Boss extracting Paz and Chico) plus side ops that recontextualized the same map under different conditions and time-of-day lighting. Critics split on whether it was a full game or an extended demo. Collectors know it now as the chapter that introduced the open-world controls, the iDroid interface, and the cassette tape audio log system that "The Phantom Pain" would expand across 60-plus hours. The PS3 disc also predates the PS4 version by two weeks in North America, which makes the last-gen copy the first-to-market physical release of the Fox Engine era.

This copy is in the standard Blu-ray keepcase. The disc art carries Big Boss's scarred profile against the floodlit perimeter of Camp Omega, high-contrast, no color bleed. Check the disc surface under direct light before play: the Fox Engine's loading architecture on PS3 is read-intensive, and surface scratches that look cosmetic can cause stuttering on the cassette tape audio triggers. The keepcase spine should read "Metal Gear Solid V Ground Zeroes" in the standard PlayStation white-on-black band with the Konami logo at the bottom right corner of the front panel.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm disc and case match (same regional SKU, BLUS-31264 for North America) and that the disc surface is free of radial scratches near the hub ring.

The PlayStation Index
Sony's polygon era rebuilt what a console could look like on a shelf. 10s PlayStation releases shipped with jewel cases, foldout manuals, demo discs, and promotional boxes that were treated as disposable at the time. The ones that held on, through moves and attic boxes and thrift bins, land at the shop with the printing still sharp. We list them with the marks honest.
