All Dogs Go To Heaven 2 VHS
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
MGM's "All Dogs Go To Heaven 2" arrived on VHS in 1996, the direct sequel to Don Bluth's 1989 original and the first major "All Dogs" release under the MGM/UA distribution banner. Charlie B. Barkin and Itchy Itchiford return, this time chasing Gabriel's Horn down from heaven into San Francisco. The copy in front of us is sealed, shrink wrap intact.
The original 1989 film came out of Sullivan Bluth Studios at a moment when independent animation was making a real run at Disney's dominance. "The Little Mermaid" arrived the same November, and the two films split the family audience that fall. By 1996, the sequel arrived in a different climate entirely: Disney had run "Aladdin," "The Lion King," and "Pocahontas" through theaters and onto home video shelves, and the VHS run for animated sequels was tight. MGM leaned into direct-to-video and broadcast positioning for mid-tier animated properties during this stretch. "All Dogs 2" got a theatrical run in some markets before moving to home video, and the Burt Reynolds and Charlie Sheen voice cast gave it genuine marquee footing for the rental rack. For collectors tracking sealed animated VHS from this stretch of the mid-90s home video boom, MGM releases from this period hold up on the secondary market.
Mid-nineties sequel optimism on cardboard sleeve, golden halos and all.
This copy shows no visible yellowing on the clamshell through the shrink wrap, and the tape ribbon looks clean with no visible slack or warping. The shrink seal seam runs tight along the top edge with no tears or lifting. Label print appears sharp from the outside face. Clamshell corners are present with no crush damage visible on inspection. If you are buying this sealed and plan to keep it that way, run a close look at the shrink seal seam along the spine before you commit.

The Rental Counter
Before streaming flattened the difference between movies, VHS was a physical act. Rentals, buybacks, Blockbuster sleeves, promo tapes, ex-rentals with security stickers still on the side. 90s tapes outlived the stores they came from. We keep them in their original cases where possible and note every sticker, sun-fade, and sleeve crease in the photography.
