Murdered: Soul Suspect is a 2014 Square Enix release developed by Airtight Games for Xbox One. The game puts you inside a detective murder mystery where the victim is the investigator, and Salem, Massachusetts serves as the entire playing field. Airtight Games built this one around Salem's actual geography and witch trial mythology, which gave the studio a ready-made atmosphere that most open-world noir games had to manufacture from scratch. The year 2014 was a transitional moment for the Xbox One library, the console barely a year into its run after the November 2013 launch, and mid-tier original IP from Square Enix was filling the gap while the heavy first-party slate caught up. Murdered occupied an interesting category: not a franchise sequel, not a licensed tie-in, a genuinely original detective-ghost loop in a real American historical setting. Reviews settled in the 6–7 range across the board, which put it in the rental-first tier for most players at the time, meaning physical retail copies got a longer shelf life than the scores implied. Square Enix released this the same year as Final Fantasy XIV's A Realm Reborn expansion push and the western release of Lightning Returns, so Murdered was very much a side-shelf title that never got the marketing weight it probably needed.

This copy is in the standard Xbox One green case format with the Square Enix header band across the top. Ronan O'Connor in the translucent ghost render against the Salem skyline is the full front panel treatment, no variant art on this pressing. Condition on Xbox One disc cases from this period generally hinges on the hinge itself, the right side spine hinge on the green cases cracked more often than the disc or the insert. Pull the case open fully and check the right hinge channel for white stress fractures before committing.
