Xbox 360 Dead Island Riptide Special Edition
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Dead Island Riptide Special Edition for Xbox 360, published by Deep Silver in 2013, is the collector's release of Techland's zombie survival sequel set on the tropical island of Palanai. The standard edition was already a hit with the open-world survival crowd, but the Special Edition packaging pushed it into a different tier for anyone building out their 360 library. The green keep case and the blood-red tropical art on the cover are immediately recognizable on a shelf.
Riptide arrived in April 2013 during a dense stretch for zombie media. "The Walking Dead" was mid-run and culturally dominant. The original "Dead Island" from 2011 had sold over five million copies and its cinematic debut trailer had become one of the most-shared gaming trailers on YouTube at the time. Deep Silver was aggressive with the Riptide release, bundling bonus DLC, additional in-game content, and collector-tier packaging to separate it from the standard disc. The 360 version competed directly against the PS3 release and the PC version on Steam, but the console crowd at the time was still predominantly 360-side in North America, which made this the dominant market for the launch. Keep in mind that 2013 was also the final full calendar year of the Xbox 360's relevance before the Xbox One launched in November of that year, making the 360 library from this period the last wave of AAA releases for the platform.
Last major zombie release on the 360 before the console's commercial twilight.
This copy is in the Special Edition configuration. The green keep case should be intact with no cracking along the spine edge. The cover art insert, with its silhouettes and red-sky tropical palette, should sit flush behind the plastic with no lifting at the corners. Disc condition matters here more than packaging: check the play surface under direct light for radial scratches, which on 360 titles can cause read errors at chapter loads. If the original DLC content code insert is still present inside the case, that is a significant addition for condition purposes. Run a thumb along the back edge of the keep case spine to feel for any stress fractures before you commit to display or play.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm this is the Special Edition configuration (collector packaging, DLC content inclusion) and not a standard retail disc in a replacement case.
