Sony PS2 X-Men Next Dimension CIB
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
X-Men: Next Dimension is a 2002 PS2 fighting game published by Activision, complete in box with the original disc, black DVD case, and the full comic-panel cover art intact. The genre was 3D arena fighting, and Activision put real production weight behind this one. Voice cast pulled from the film cycle, licensed characters across the full roster, destructible environments built around the arena format. CIB copies with undamaged cases and unbroken disc art are not a given at this point in the collector market, and this one presents well from the outside.
By 2002, X-Men as a franchise was operating on multiple simultaneous fronts. Bryan Singer's first film had come out in summer 2000 and cleared $296 million worldwide, enough to greenlight the sequel that would arrive in 2003. The 90s animated series was still the reference point for how a generation understood the roster: Cyclops, Storm, Wolverine, Gambit, Jean Grey in that visual shorthand baked into Saturday mornings from 1992 forward. Next Dimension leaned directly into that film momentum and gave the roster a fighting-game format that X-Men: Evolution had already primed audiences for. The playable villain depth here, including Magneto and Sabretooth with full move sets, was the thing that separated it from companion releases on GameCube and Xbox. Activision ran a coordinated multi-platform rollout across the 2002 release year, and the PS2 version was the lead SKU, carrying the most marketing attention and the longest tail of retail availability.
Complete-in-box from the era when superhero games lived between arcade ports and home exclusives.
This copy is complete: disc, case, and manual all present. The case exterior shows standard shelf wear consistent with a 20-plus-year-old PS2 release, but the disc face warrants a close look before you call it play-ready. Black PS2 cases from this period are prone to hinge stress fractures at the spine edge, and the manual can sit loose if the retaining lip inside the case has cracked. Check the interior hinge seam on both sides before closing the sale.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm disc condition (no deep radial scratches), manual present and unmarked, and case hinge seam intact at both spine edges.

The PlayStation Index
Sony's polygon era rebuilt what a console could look like on a shelf. y2k PlayStation releases shipped with jewel cases, foldout manuals, demo discs, and promotional boxes that were treated as disposable at the time. The ones that held on, through moves and attic boxes and thrift bins, land at the shop with the printing still sharp. We list them with the marks honest.
