Remember The Titans VHS Tape
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Walt Disney Home Video pressed this release of "Remember the Titans" in 2000, right as the film was hitting theaters and the home-video run was closing fast behind. Denzel Washington starring, Boaz Yakin directing, Jerry Bruckheimer producing. The sleeve leads with Denzel's close-up against that amber-and-gold sunset gradient, a silhouetted player mid-stride below him, and the Ebert and Roeper "Two Thumbs Up" pull quote anchoring the bottom. Classic late-era clamshell VHS presentation, Walt Disney Home Video imprint at the spine.
The film came out in September 2000, the same fall that "Almost Famous," "Traffic," and "Cast Away" were pulling awards-season oxygen. Denzel was already carrying the full weight of Hollywood's dramatic lead catalog by this point, two years off "The Hurricane" and heading toward his Oscar win for "Training Day" in 2002. "Remember the Titans" sat in a different lane than those prestige dramas. It was a Bruckheimer production built for broad reach, based on the 1971 integration of T.C. Williams High School football in Alexandria, Virginia. The real Herman Boone, the real Gerry Bertier, a real state championship run. The film did not pretend to be a quiet character study, and the VHS release matched that energy: full retail packaging, theatrical key art, no stripped-down economy sleeve. This is the copy you found at the video store, not a mail-in dub.
The tape that sat in suburban living rooms for a decade, rewound smooth.
This copy shows the pre-owned character you expect from a 25-year-old tape that actually got watched. The sleeve has handling wear, the colors on the case hold well, and the tape itself is worth rewinding before playback. No clamshell crush visible, which matters for display. Walt Disney Home Video tapes from this period used a consistent label stock across their releases, so the label on the cassette body should be flush with no corner peel. Check that cassette label at the bottom edge before you shelve it.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the cassette label is intact and the tape window shows ribbon sitting flat with no visible slack before final condition grade.

The Rental Counter
Before streaming flattened the difference between movies, VHS was a physical act. Rentals, buybacks, Blockbuster sleeves, promo tapes, ex-rentals with security stickers still on the side. y2k tapes outlived the stores they came from. We keep them in their original cases where possible and note every sticker, sun-fade, and sleeve crease in the photography.
