Bases Loaded - Nintendo NES (Original 1988 Jaleco Cartridge)
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Bases Loaded is a Jaleco-published NES baseball cartridge from 1988, and without the photo in front of us, the production year is provisional until the label and board markings confirm it. Jaleco brought this title to North American NES owners after its 1987 Japanese arcade and Famicom run under the name "Moero!! Pro Yakyuu," and the cartridge that arrived in American living rooms in 1988 became one of the most-played baseball games the NES ever produced. Twelve playable teams. Named fictional rosters with individual player stats that actually varied. A pitching and batting interface that rewarded the people who put real hours in.
The 1988 NES library was not short on competition. R.B.I. Baseball from Tengen had MLBPA licensing and real player names. Baseball Stars from SNK, arriving in 1989, would push the whole category forward with season modes. But Bases Loaded held ground by committing to stadium atmosphere and position-by-position depth that the other titles were still working toward. The game sold well enough to anchor three direct sequels on the NES alone, with Bases Loaded II through IV all appearing before the platform transitioned out of retail in the early 1990s. This is the cartridge that started that run, and on the collector shelf it belongs apart from the sequels because the original is always the one people mean when they say the name.

Condition on this copy has not been confirmed by eye. The label print, the cartridge housing color, and the connector pin area are all worth a close look before price or grade settles. NES cartridges from 1988 show their age in predictable ways: label corners lift at the edges, housing plastic yellows unevenly, and the 72-pin connector end gets scuffed from repeated console insertions. A clean-label 1988 Jaleco gray cartridge with no fading on the red-and-white logo block is the thing to look for here. Run a thumb along the connector ridge and check for deep groove scoring before anything else.
OWNER VERIFY: Era and production year, confirm the 1988 North American release date against the board date stamp and label copyright line.
OWNER VERIFY: Provenance and label, confirm Jaleco copyright text, cartridge housing color (standard NES gray), and the absence of any third-party re-label or reproduction sticker.
OWNER VERIFY: Condition, inspect label corner adhesion, housing yellowing, and connector ridge scoring before grading.

The Nintendo Archive
This is part of Nintendo's 80s run, the era that built the shop's back wall. Nintendo shipped cartridges, plush, promotional oddities, and packaging that most buyers threw out on the way to the game. What survived, mostly by accident, ends up here. Every piece is cleaned, photographed, and listed one at a time. Nothing on the archive shelf is a duplicate.
