Zombies Ate My Neighbors for the SNES Is Still One of the Best
Zombies Ate My Neighbors for the SNES. $150, clean copy.
About the game
Released in 1993. Developed by LucasArts. Published by Konami. Available on the SNES and the Sega Genesis. Two-player co-op. Run-and-gun with a specifically campy horror theme. You control Zeke and Julie, the two suburban teens, rescuing neighbors from zombies, vampires, werewolves, giant babies, and chainsaw-wielding lunatics.
The game is often cited as one of the best co-op experiences on the SNES. The level design is dense. The weapons are weird (water pistols as flamethrowers, exploding soda cans, a bazooka). The enemy variety is absurd. The soundtrack is B-movie perfect.
Why the cart still climbs
Zombies Ate My Neighbors has always had a passionate cult following, but the secondary market has tightened noticeably in the last three years. Clean loose carts were $60 ten years ago. CIB copies have crossed $250 in decent condition. This is partially nostalgia, partially the broader SNES market climbing, and partially the fact that Konami never pushed a proper re-release.
This one is a clean loose cart. Label is clean. Cart tests fine. In the game case now.
