A Rare WWF WrestleMania XI Snapback Hit the Hat Wall

A 1995 WWF WrestleMania XI snapback just landed at the shop. Priced at $70. It is as clean a WrestleMania XI piece as you are going to find, and we are surprised it came through at all.

Why nobody knows where to file this event

WrestleMania XI is the weird one. It ran on April 2, 1995, at the Hartford Civic Center. The main event was NFL linebacker Lawrence Taylor against Bam Bam Bigelow, with Taylor going over in a heavily protected match. The WWF Championship match was Diesel defending the belt against Shawn Michaels, which landed in the semi-main event slot.

Reviews were mixed then. They are still mixed now. But the celebrity crossover, the storyline heat around Taylor, and the fact that Bigelow basically carried the match make it a more interesting rewatch than its reputation suggests.

The hat

Hat is clean. Front panel stitching is tight. Logo colors have not faded. Snap closure still snaps. Any vintage snapback from 1995 is going to have some sweat memory, and this one has less than most. If you are building a WrestleMania-by-year hat wall, this is a surprisingly hard fill because the event did not get the merch run of its sisters.
