Original Batman Movie Theater Posters Are Back on the Wall
We added a small run of original Batman movie theater posters to the wall this weekend.
The set covers three of the Burton-through-Schumacher era entries. All are 27 by 40. All are originals, not reprints. Creases are mild across the set. Colors have held.
What to check on a Batman poster
The quick authentication checks for a Batman theatrical one-sheet are:
- Paper weight. 1989-to-1997 one-sheets used a specific heavier stock. Reprints are almost always lighter.
- Studio watermark placement. Warner Bros watermarks on originals are typically bottom-right in a small block. Reprints often push them into the margin.
- Run number. The small-print credits block in the lower margin should reference the original distribution run year. If the year is missing or does not match the film, back off.
- Folds. Originals were folded into quarters for theater shipment. A poster with tube rolls and no folds at all is often a later commercial re-release.
What we priced them at
Prices are in the case next to each piece. We keep them fair because we would rather get them onto a wall than sit on them for a decade. If you are building a Batman wall, the full run drops off the price if you grab more than one.
Come look. They do not move as fast as VHS, but when the right collector walks in, they move fast.
