Behind the Scenes of Our Home Alone Holiday Shoot
Every December we try to do at least one themed shoot. This year we leaned into Home Alone.
The setup was simple. Pizza box on a counter. Plastic snake. A couple of vintage knit sweaters, a trench coat, a red knit beanie, and a wool scarf. Ray on the camera. Marissa styling.
What you do not see in the finished post
Three rounds of rearranging the snake. Two takes of the pizza box balancing on the edge of the counter. A missing sweater that turned up on a customer who had tried it on forty minutes earlier and left wearing it. The dog that wandered in because Container Park is a dog park with a shop in it.
This is how every shop shoot actually goes. The final posts look composed. The reality is close to sitcom.
Why we share the behind-the-scenes
Vintage retail in 2026 is heavy on the polish. Most feeds look like magazine spreads. That is fine. It is not how we want ours to feel. Our feed should look like the shop: a little chaotic, a lot of fun, real people moving real pieces around in a building with good light.
Merry early Christmas from the floor.
