Roadracers is early Robert Rodriguez — made for Showtime's "Rebel Highway" series before he blew up with Desperado and From Dusk Till Dawn. David Arquette as a rockabilly greaser and Salma Hayek as his girl in a 1950s-set hot rod drama. This is a deep-cut VHS find — Rodriguez completists and '90s indie film collectors will appreciate a pre-fame Salma Hayek and the raw Rodriguez style that would define his career.
