WWF Bungeez Stone Cold Steve Austin Figure
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
WWF Bungeez Stone Cold Steve Austin figure, rubber-and-clip novelty toy from the late 1990s Attitude Era. This is the bungee-cord format: a molded Steve Austin likeness, cast in hard rubber or soft vinyl, attached to a clip and elastic cord so the figure bounces and returns. Without the photo in front of us, the production year is provisional, but Bungeez-style figures circulated through WWF's licensed toy lines primarily between 1997 and 1999, the years Austin was carrying the company on his back. The tag and the stitch will settle the exact production window.
Austin's peak years were a specific commercial moment for WWF merchandise. Raw ratings were beating Nitro head-to-head by late 1998. "Stone Cold" was on t-shirts, foam fingers, can coolers, keychains, and novelty clip toys that hit gas stations and mall kiosks alongside the arena merchandise tables. The Bungeez format was part of that lower-cost licensed wave, items priced to move at impulse-buy counters, not hobby shops. That means survival rates are lower than you'd expect. Most got clipped to a backpack or a rearview mirror and eventually lost to time. The ones that stayed packaged, or at minimum intact on their clip, are genuinely hard to find 25-plus years out. Austin 3:16, the heel-turned-babyface run, the beer bath segments, the Vince McMahon feud: this toy was produced inside all of it.
The figure is serious, the bungee cord absurd, and that gap is the charm.
This copy is unexamined by photo, so condition details are unconfirmed. The format to check on inspection: is the elastic cord intact and unfrayed, is the clip mechanism functional, and does the molded Austin likeness retain paint detail on the face and vest without heavy cracking or flaking. Hard rubber and soft vinyl both chalk and fade with age, so color saturation on the figure's skin tone and black vest is the condition tell. Pull the cord gently and watch how the bungee cord returns. Any slack or visible splitting in the cord wall is worth noting before pricing or display.
OWNER VERIFY: Era and production year: confirm via copyright date printed on the figure base or the clip housing, expected 1997-1999 based on Austin's licensing peak.
OWNER VERIFY: Provenance and manufacturer: check the base or back of the figure for the licensed manufacturer name alongside the WWF scratch logo and Titan Sports or WWF Attitude copyright mark.
OWNER VERIFY: Condition: inspect elastic cord integrity, clip functionality, and paint retention on the face and vest before final condition grade.
The figure is serious, the bungee cord absurd, and that gap is the charm.
Attitude Era Archive
WWF's 90s stretch ran hot and strange. Shirts, magazines, and figures came out of a locker-room-to-retail pipeline with zero prestige intent. The ones that made it through are creased, foxed, sun-hit, and still loud. Keeping them intact is the job. We document what survived and photograph it in the condition it arrived in.
