SNES Super Battleship
1 OF 1 · NO RESTOCK
Super Battleship on SNES is Mindscape's 1993 cartridge adaptation of the Milton Bradley grid-combat board game, dressed up with 16-bit naval hardware and enough strategic depth to hold its own against a living room opponent. The grey cart puts a warship silhouette against a golden sunset with a green targeting crosshair overlaid on the scene. Classic Battleship DNA, rebuilt for a console generation that wanted more than cardboard pegs.
By 1993 the SNES library was hitting its stride. Capcom had Street Fighter II Turbo on shelves. Konami dropped Contra III and Super Castlevania IV in the two years prior. Square was mid-run on Final Fantasy. Mindscape carved a quieter corner of that catalog by adapting licensed board game properties into functional carts, and Super Battleship was one of their cleaner executions. The core loop is pure to the source: you call coordinates on a hidden grid, track hits and misses, and try to sink the opponent's fleet before yours goes under. The SNES version adds a campaign mode, different naval scenarios, and enough presentation polish that it justifies the cartridge format rather than just porting the box. For the board game crossover collector, this occupies a specific shelf position: it is not a prestige RPG, but it is not shovelware either. It is a competent licensed adaptation from a period when Mindscape was doing that work seriously, and it carries both the Milton Bradley and Hasbro pedigree on the label.
Fleet command for the SNES owner who wanted tactics over Mode 7 speed runs.
This copy is cart only, which is standard for how most of these surface 30-plus years out. The cartridge shell is the grey standard SNES form factor. Condition on carts from this period tracks to the label first. Super Battleship labels are prone to corner peel and sun fade on the sunset background gradient, so look at the lower right corner where the crosshair meets the edge. Peel or creasing there will tell you how this one was stored.
OWNER VERIFY: Confirm the 1993 production year and Mindscape publisher credit against the label text on the cartridge back.

The Nintendo Archive
This is part of Nintendo's 90s run, the era that built the shop's back wall. Nintendo shipped cartridges, plush, promotional oddities, and packaging that most buyers threw out on the way to the game. What survived, mostly by accident, ends up here. Every piece is cleaned, photographed, and listed one at a time. Nothing on the archive shelf is a duplicate.
